Maggie Sottero Bridal

I've decided it's important for me to stress the amazingness of Maggie Sottero. I'm not thinking about getting married anytime soon but I've never seen anything like her dresses. They're luxe and expensive looking and so very different. I just love them all! Here's just a few of my favourites from her collection (particularly the red red red!) but I urge you go on the website and check out the rest because it's pure stunning!

Photos

Morning!

So I really wanted to upload some photos of some of my own favourite clothes, just to keep it real! Alas my camera's being a douchelord and I can't make it happen right now. But I will eventually.

I don't own a lot of designer stuff myself, being a lowly civillian, so I tend to mix and match. I have a few vintage pieces that I love and then I take off the highstreet. Which I don't think is a bad thing. Topshop and River Island are brilliant for putting a look together. You can spend €150 in one of those stores and wear the clothes like you spent €1500.

Anyways, so I'll work on getting a few photos up. In the meantime I just want to say, look at those pretty shoes!! The designer is Giuseppe Zanotti of Vicini. I know they initially look a tad strippery, but think of how amazing they would be with the right skirt!

Gaga's Muse

Lady Gaga wore an Armani dress to the Grammys last year. Said dress was the star of the night. And Gaga knows it. Which is no doubt why the starlet has teamed up with Giorgio Armani again. The designer is creating outfits for her Monster Ball tour.

Armani said, "she is a modern fashion phenomenon."

It could be said that Miss Germanotta's fashion tends to steal her music's thunder though. Let's face it, if you went to see Lady Gaga in concert and she emerged on stage wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt from Topshop you'd be pretty surprised. I would. If there's one thing Gaga is not it's Kelly Clarkson.

I used to think that the aim of Gaga's outfits was simply to shock. Now I question my own judgement. Fashion is art. It's creativity and it's imagination. Don't get me wrong though, I do believe Gaga to take it a tad too far on occassion (the teacup business springs to mind) but overall I think the woman knows what she's doing. She furthers her career as a performer by engaging her audience with clothes. You have to admit that it's captivating. You want to see what she wears, how outrageous she can be. The extravagence and the effort that Gaga devotes to her "art" is commendable.

Anyway, having said all that, I'm actually not overly impressed by the Armani sketches that were released of the tour outfits. I was expecting something more out there. I just feel like these costumes could belong to any member of Girls Aloud and to be honest, I expect a bit more from Lady Gaga than that.

It's not that I don't like the outfits, they're stunning. I just anticipated mountains of fabric and colours and angles and dimensions and discomfort. I was waiting for something that noone else could possibly get away with and I just don't get that from these sketches.

I do have a feeling though, that this might be a tame taster of what else might be up Armani's couture sleeves...
